Two weeks ago I tried henna for the first time after using chemical colors for about 5 years. I LOVE the texture of my hair after only one application! It's so soft and thick (fluffy!), and it hasn't faded at all.

I used 1/2 henna and 1/2 indigo (Ancient Sunrise Medium Brunette). I love it, except that it is a bit darker and more vibrant than I want. My natural hair color is darkish brown with about 15% gray. It's cut pretty short. I am 56 years old. My issue is that I am used to looking in the mirror and seeing the lighter, faded mousey brown that I have had for the past few years with the chemical colors. (Sad, but true.) I would feel more comfortable with a bit lighter brunette, with some red highlights.

I just ordered Henna for Hair Cinnamon which I can't wait to try, but I have a couple of questions. I have some indigo left over from my previous purchase, which I don't want to waste. How can I use this indigo with my henna/buxus dioica? I'm thinking 1/2 henna with 1/4 buxus dioica and 1/4 indigo? Can these three work together? What can I expect with this combination? How do I mix it? Will the indigo and the buxus dioica work against each other?

Thanks for your help. I look forward to your expert advice.

They can be used together. Most people don't just because they both pretty much do the same job with different intensity. Strand test!
