Hi everyone I am going to do henna on my own hands for our holiday Eid next month and I can do the left hand easily cuz I use my right hand but when it comes to doing my right hand I suck big time. It comes out sloppy and smeared I dont have good control with working with my left hand. So I was wondering how do you guys do it? Is there some trick to it? Or should I just do my left hand and call it done lol.

Salaam!

Well, after reading this thread I decided it was possible to do more than a small flower on my right hand, and this is what I came up with :

It's not the same as my left, and much less elaborate, but I think it turned out nicely.  You just have to be VERY patient (this small design took be about three hours), and kind of move your hands together.  Like if you are making a long line from right to left, move your cone from right to left, and move your right hand from left to right.  If that makes any sense...

I think you should start off small, like, try just doing a simple flower you are already comfortable with with your right hand, and work up from there.  Give yourself lots of time, and don't set your expectations too high, that way, if you have a good result, you will be very excited!  Also remember, that we all have off days, so try again when you're having a more "on" day.

Last thing, I did my left hand first, that way at least if my right hand didn't turn out, I wasn't too dissapointed, because I had one good hand.

Take care, and practice practice practice.  But remember, practice doesn't make perfect...perfect practice makes perfect :)
