DIY Henna shampoo / contitioner?

I have brown hair with a little bit of natural red highlights, and am looking for a way to enhance the red without going full dye; I've seen henna mixes on the site, but I've never dyed my hair before, so it just seems like an extraordinary amount of mess and work, and I'm very lazy when it comes to hair care. I've seen henna shampoos at the store, but they seem to have a lot of extra stuff in them, and don't really have any coloring effect.

I was wondering if there was a way to mix my own henna shampoo or conditioner, as a shortcut to add a little gradual tint to my hair without doing the full process of mixing and applying and wrapping up the hair for several hours. Any suggestions?

You could always do a henna

You could always do a henna gloss! Just dye release henna, mix with conditioner and leave it on for about an hour. It won't add a lot of color.  You could also just do a hilighting cap and use henna instead  of bleach for a few hours as well!
