Medium Auburn results over grey

Hi All! :-)

Took pics last night after a full week's oxidation. My mix is on the previous forum, but it was something like a 2 parts henna-1/2 part amla-1 part indigo. Used about a 1/2 cup of lemon juice in the henna/amla mix, and also froze and thawed this mix for greater dye release. Length took the indigo better than the roots, which is fine since I'll be only doing root touchups for the next six months. I might tweak the mix with a strong hibiscus tea & red wine next time to try and push the color even deeper red. Also, when I do my next full head app.I'll probably just do a straight henna to brighten the length a bit. But, I am content with this color. I just LOVE the way henna reacts with my baby fine hair. I have absolutely NO split ends now, and the shine? Unbelievable! So, so glad I found this site six months ago- it has been and continues to be quite the adventure!

Both pics were taken indoors with flash, under incandescent lighting. Will post more pics later in sun and no flash.

Did I say I was delighted?....

Hmmmm....that's strange. Why won't the link for my pics work? Is there a special method for this new forum? Never had this problem on the old one. Advise please?

Hope this works- these are the full-size rather than the clickable thumbnail.

Re: Medium Auburn results over grey

Ahhh...so that's the trick with the pics! Here's one my husband just took, outside on a cloudy day, no flash. Isn't it strange how the lighting affects the color? Now, my husband says my hair doesn't look this purple to his eyes, so it must be the camera. Is there a best setting for accurate color on a camera? I've been using the "auto" feature on my Canon Powershot A530. It only has 5 MP so maybe that's the reason? Any thoughts/suggestions?

BTW, thanks for the compliment Carrie! You have been so helpful to me over my journey. I really appreciate all the time you have taken to cyber-pat my shoulder, cyber-hold my hand, etc. And thanks to all the others who have posted and helped as well. I'm proud to be a fellow henna-head! :-)

You want the direct links, not the image code. When you hover your mouse over a picture, the box that appears has "Email & IM; Direct Link; HTML Code; Image Code". Since most folks dont know how to/cant size down their pics, and pics take up a lot of bandwidth, they've disabled that feature on this forum.

Any way, your color is beautiful!

Well, let's just say I look like a reverse skunk when my roots start showing! LOL

Thanks for the compliment- people who see me in person always assume it's my natural color and are floored when I tell them it's henna! :-) They're just not used to seeing dyed hair look this healthy...

Your hair looks so pretty!  I love how henna always looks different, depending on the lighting.
