Please post your Thursday Sharing for June 3 into this thread!

Thank you all in advance for sharing!

When you can, post a url for your picture rather than hotlinking the picture.... there are several reasons for this:

Many people have limited bandwidth. If a hotlink pops their picture up every time some opens the thread, they may quickly exceed their bandwidth, and then nobody gets to see their picture.

Its nice to see your picture in the context of the rest of your work!

The page will open more quickly for everyone if the sharing is done with text links rather than hotlinks.

There are some people who love to harvest other people's henna pictures to hotlink to their own forums, or fill up their photobuckets. The text link may add some slight deterrence to this. I recommend you check your stats a week after you post your pictures to see if they're getting hotlinked onto another forum. If so.... you have to pay for the bandwidth while they get their jollies.

If you don't know how to size your picture to less than 800 px wide, please post a text link rather than hotlinking the picture. When there are very large pictures, it makes the whole thread difficult to read.

You can use the quote comment to talk about one particular person's pictures.

Here's what 3.4% lawsone content looks like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/50164213@N02/4665083160/

Luna and I both did more Celebration.  We've both got cast iron skillet colored stains ... even across the backs of the fingers.   Her fingers are still midnight black five days after paste off, and her fingernails are dark, dark, dark.

The orange is where I had henna on for one minute.  The rest is a normal application.  Photograph was taken 18 hours after paste removal.

The mix was lemon juice, caj terps and fructose.  I sealed it with Frozen Stiff hairspray from Sally Beauty Supply.  The pattern on my arm is getting very dark now ...... last time my arm stain lasted for three weeks, and was crazy dark!

My palm, seen here:

is still coffee-bean dark after 9 days of swimming, bathing, and dishwashing.

If there is any downside to 3.4% lawsone content, it would be that you'd better really like whatever you doodle, because it will stain dark even if left on for a short time.  This:

is milk-chocolate brown color 24 hrs after paste off; whether I like it or not :)

One more... roses:

Re: Please post your Thursday Sharing for June 3 into this ...

Hi all!  I've been super henna busy the past few weeks and thought I'd share what I've done.

First though, a couple of interesting stories from these gigs:

One bride was telling me about a male mehndi artist in Chennai I think that is super fast and good and insanely popular there- but you aren't allow to talk to him or it will "jinx" him and he has to go and meditate for 30 minutes before he can start again and you have to pay for that time- hahaha! Hrmmm, maybe i should start doing that- just kidding!

Another bride said that her friend who was there got her mehndi done by some famous guy from London and I later asked her friend who it was.  She said it was Ash Kumar.  I was like wow- how'd you get him to come over here?!  He's Mr. Bigshot!  She said he just happened to be really good friends with a friend of hers.  She said he was super nice and did a great job.

Anywho, on to the shares...

Bethlock, love the one with checkerboard on the palms... I'm thinking of being inspired by that very soon :)

Here is what I just did on myself.

Re: Please post your Thursday Sharing for June 3 into this ...

I just want to thank hennapage for helping me get started becoming a henna artist.  I recently held my first party to experiment on friends and family and received some great feedback!  I launched a website and have scheduled two gigs with a few more in the works.

I am not nearly as good (yet) as some of the artists I have seen on this site, but I think I have potential.  I've posted a link to a gallery of my most recent work.

THANK YOU HENNA PAGE and Catherine!
